Terms & scope of service
Last updated November 2026
These terms describe what we do, what we do not do, and how engagements work. They summarise the Terms of Service that form part of every engagement — the signed version prevails, and you receive it in full before anything is charged.
What we provide
We provide case management and process services in connection with obtaining Slovak citizenship: preliminary assessment of eligibility, review of the documents you hold and identification of gaps, guidance on locating and obtaining the required records, an overview of the process and timelines, assistance through apostille and super-legalisation, arranging official translations, preparation and organisation of the application materials, and written and verbal support throughout.
What we do not provide
We are not a law firm. We do not ourselves provide legal advice or legal representation, and we do not file applications or submissions for you. Where a matter requires legal judgment, or you want representation in the proceedings, it is provided by cooperating Slovak attorneys under their own professional responsibility.
You act on your own behalf throughout the application process. All formal steps — signing, submitting, appearing in person where required — remain yours, and so do the final decisions.
No guaranteed outcome
Slovak law does not entitle anyone to be granted a residence permit or citizenship. The authorities have discretion to grant or deny even where every statutory requirement is met. We are responsible for preparing your case diligently and professionally; we cannot and do not assume responsibility for the outcome.
Your part
The work depends on what you supply. You undertake to give us accurate, complete and truthful information and documents in good time, to tell us promptly when relevant facts change, to review what we send you without undue delay, and to seek independent legal advice on questions of a legal nature. We may rely on the accuracy of what you provide.
Fees and payment
The case review is free. Any further work is quoted as a fixed price after that review, based on the assumptions that your case proceeds without unusual complexity, that you cooperate fully and in good time, and that the agreed scope does not change materially. If those assumptions do not hold, we will tell you before adjusting the fee.
Larger engagements are paid in stages — a deposit before the work begins and the balance before the completed application is handed over. Invoices are payable within seven days unless the invoice states otherwise.
Third-party costs
The fee does not include third-party costs, which are yours: government and administrative fees, apostille fees, official translations (currently €25 per standard page of 1,800 characters), notarial fees, archive retrieval charges and shipping. Where the work requires specialists — translators, notaries, archivists, genealogists — we may engage them, and their costs are billed at cost.
Confidentiality
Both sides keep confidential the non-public information exchanged during the engagement: personal data, family history, document contents, and financial and procedural information. Your personal data is processed only to provide the services — see the privacy notice.
Ending the engagement
You may end the engagement at any time by written notice. Fees for work already done and third-party costs already incurred remain payable. We may end it on five days’ written notice if an invoice is more than thirty days overdue, or if the terms are materially breached and not remedied after notice.
